Porter Creek Pinot Noir

Pre-Order: Releasing 2/2027

The R. Degen Porter Creek Pinot Noir is a limited-production kosher Pinot Noir sourced from organically farmed fruit in the heart of the Russian River Valley. Crafted with restraint, elegance, and a deep respect for place, this wine captures the rare balance that defines the region: California richness shaped by cool-climate precision.

In the glass, it opens with a graceful expression of ripe cherry, red plum, wild strawberry, and cranberry, unfolding into subtle layers of forest floor, clove, delicate spice, and finely integrated oak. The palate is silky and composed, carried by vibrant acidity, polished texture, and a clean mineral finish that lingers with quiet sophistication.

Refined yet deeply inviting, this is a Pinot Noir made for tables of meaning — Shabbat dinners, holiday gatherings, intimate celebrations, and meals shared with the people who matter most. It pairs beautifully with roasted duck, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, challah, aged cheeses, and richly layered seasonal dishes.

Rooted in tradition and crafted without compromise, the R. Degen Porter Creek Pinot Noir offers a more elevated vision of kosher wine: expressive, terroir-driven, and worthy of the moments it is poured to honor.

About the Vineyard

This Pinot Noir begins with CCOF organically farmed fruit from Porter Creek, and that matters to us. Not because organic farming sounds good on a label, but because it changes the way we think about the wine from the very beginning.

Great wine is not something you can force into existence later in the cellar. It has to start in the vineyard, with fruit that has been farmed carefully, thoughtfully, and with respect for the land it comes from. For us, working with organically farmed fruit is part of that larger responsibility — to let the vineyard speak clearly, without trying to cover it up or turn it into something it is not.

You can feel that in the glass. There is freshness, lift, and purity to the fruit, but also texture and quiet depth. The wine does not need to be loud to feel special. It has that kind of natural elegance that comes from balance, from patience, and from trusting the vineyard.

About the Winemaking

Made under the careful supervision of Rabbi Mendel Wenger and certified through the Orthodox Union, R. Degen wines are crafted to be Kosher for Passover and enjoyed year-round with confidence, pride, and purpose.

Produced non-mevushal, our wines are made with a commitment to preserving the full integrity of the fruit, the vineyard, and the winemaking process. Every bottle reflects the belief that kosher wine should not be defined by limitation, but by intention — thoughtful farming, careful cellar work, and a deep respect for tradition.

This is wine made to be poured without apology. Elegant, expressive, and rooted in meaning, R. Degen represents a new standard for kosher wine: one where tradition and luxury stand together in the same glass.
