Mon Premier Wines Quarters A Cabernet Sauvignon

Crafted in honor of the 250th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps, the 2023 Quarters A Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine of strength and discipline — a tribute to tradition and excellence. From the glass rises a commanding bouquet of blackcurrant, graphite, and cigar box, underscored by cedar, dark chocolate, and roasted coffee bean from its 24 months in 100% new French oak. The palate is both powerful and poised, with rich layers of blackberry, cassis, and plum compote framed by fine-grained tannins and a core of Rutherford dust that speaks unmistakably of its origin. As it opens, Quarters A reveals notes of sage, anise, and baking spice, building toward a long, resonant finish that echoes with dark fruit, oak spice, and a touch of minerality. This is a Cabernet built to stand the test of time — commanding yet refined, much like the Marines it honors.

About the Vineyard

This Pinot Noir begins with CCOF organically farmed fruit from Porter Creek, and that matters to us. Not because organic farming sounds good on a label, but because it changes the way we think about the wine from the very beginning.

Great wine is not something you can force into existence later in the cellar. It has to start in the vineyard, with fruit that has been farmed carefully, thoughtfully, and with respect for the land it comes from. For us, working with organically farmed fruit is part of that larger responsibility — to let the vineyard speak clearly, without trying to cover it up or turn it into something it is not.

You can feel that in the glass. There is freshness, lift, and purity to the fruit, but also texture and quiet depth. The wine does not need to be loud to feel special. It has that kind of natural elegance that comes from balance, from patience, and from trusting the vineyard.

About the Winemaking

Made under the careful supervision of Rabbi Mendel Wenger and certified through the Orthodox Union, R. Degen wines are crafted to be Kosher for Passover and enjoyed year-round with confidence, pride, and purpose.

Produced non-mevushal, our wines are made with a commitment to preserving the full integrity of the fruit, the vineyard, and the winemaking process. Every bottle reflects the belief that kosher wine should not be defined by limitation, but by intention — thoughtful farming, careful cellar work, and a deep respect for tradition.

This is wine made to be poured without apology. Elegant, expressive, and rooted in meaning, R. Degen represents a new standard for kosher wine: one where tradition and luxury stand together in the same glass.
